Asus Zenfone 6 leaked renders show flip camera, notchless display

Asus will unveil the Zenfone 6 on May 16 in Spain, and just a day ahead of the launch, renders of the phone have surfaced on the internet revealing the expected design of the phone. The renders have been shared by SlashLeaks and popular tipster Roland Quandt. The renders show that the upcoming ZenFone phone will sport a notch-less edge-to-edge display and a swivel dual camera setup.

According to the images, the ZenFone 6 follows the same concept as the Samsung Galaxy A80. It does not feature a front camera, and the rear camera setup doubles as the selfie shooters. Reportedly, the difference is that in the Zenfone the camera module flip towards the front by sliding the display down, while the Galaxy A80 has a module that rises up and only the camera flips. Apparently, the swivel camera module is said to be made out of liquid metal which is claimed to reduce its weight by 20 percent and increases its strength fourfold.

The phone has a fingerprint sensor on the back panel which is made of 3D curved glass design with gradient texture. The company has already confirmed that the phone would come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, and also sport a 3.5mm jack. The phone is speculated to feature a 6.3-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display of the phone could have Gorilla Glass 6 protection.

When it comes to the camera, the dual camera is speculated to come with Sony IMX586 48MP primary sensor and a 13MP superwide lens. It is expected to ship with a 5,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 rapid charging technology support. The company could launch the phone in Valencia, Spain and the event will start at 20:00 Central European Summer Time (CEST), that is, 11.30pm IST.
