WSJ reconfirms triple camera setup on iPhone XI, dual rear cameras expected on iPhone XR
Last week, we got you exclusive renders of the iPhone 11 in collaboration with OnLeaks. The renders give a very early look at what one can expect from the upcoming iPhone 11 and show a triple camera setup lodged at the back of the device. Seconding that report, WSJ has now reported that as per its sources, the iPhone XI will indeed have a triple camera setup at the back. The publication goes on to say that the successor to the iPhone XR will come bearing dual rear cameras and that it will continue sporting Apple’s Liquid Retina LCD display in 2019. The lineup of iPhones is expected to go completely OLED in 2020. When we got you the first renders of the iPhone XI, we also told you that Apple is expected to launch three new iPhones in 2019. The renders depicted the flagship iPhone expected to launch this year and revealed a square camera unit housing three cameras aligned non-linearly. There are two cameras aligned vertically, similar to the iPhone XS. The render reveals there will be a third camera placed between the two, on the side. Above that is an LED flash and a microphone on the bottom. There’s still a long way to go before the next iPhone makes its way to the market. A lot could be added to these rumours and leaks by the time the 2019 iPhone launch nears, however, if these reports are to be believed, Apple will be playing catch up in the camera space this year. We just wish the triple camera setup does not compromise the design of the new iPhones.
