Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 receiving MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM in India: Reports
Two days after Xiaomi announced on Twitter that the mid-range Redmi Note 5 will soon be getting the MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM, users in India have started receiving the update on their devices. MIUI version 10.0.2.0 is now being received by Redmi Note 5 users through an OTA update. The new software brings with it full screen navigational gestures and the August Security patch. Replying to Xiaomi’s older tweet about the upcoming MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM update for the Redmi Note 5, a user named Iftekhar Alam posted a screenshot of his device updated with the latest version of the OS. MIUI 10 was officially announced back in May alongside the Xiaomi Mi 8 series of smartphones. Xiaomi’s AI-focussed OS features a refreshed recent screen aimed at maximising screen space. It also supports full-screen display gesture, swipe to delete tasks and more. Additionally, MIUI 10 helps in capturing AI portraits with bokeh effects on both single and dual camera smartphones. Using Machine Learning, MIUI 10 is said to reduce app load times to “zero” by studying and anticipating a user’s actions and it can also be used for controlling smart home devices. The update also brings Ambient sounds of nature to the timer app containing drizzle, forest, and beach sounds. The Clock and Notes apps have also received a revamp. Redmi Note 5 users can view the entire changelog here. Xiaomi also recently rolled out the MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM 8.9.13 for the Poco F1 smartphone. The 2.5GB update brings fixes for issues ranging from "OK Google" not working to distorted headphone output sound while playing PUBG on the Poco F1. You can read more about it here.
